Recently, Middlesbrough has been hit by the news that the Steel Industry which has supported the town's economy for hundreds of years is to go with the loss of hundreds of jobs.

The families affected by these job losses will be hard hit, and with austerity and biting cuts in welfare and services they face a very bleak future as jobs are at a premium and not everybody has 'transferable skills' or can pay for education classes at College or University.

Middlesbrough Football Club is at the heart of the community, and has already supported the Steel Workers and their families to their credit.

During June 2016, I am thinking that with the co-operation of Middlesbrough FC and the backing of the wider community in Middlesbrough the Riverside Stadium could host a 'Steel Aid' concert in support of the Steel Workers and their families.
