PETITION REGARDING VISITOR POLICY – DOCTORS’ QUARTERS
To: The Landlord / Management
Date: 31/03/2026
Subject: Request for Review and Amendment of Visitor Policy
We, the undersigned doctors currently residing at Marlitch, would like to formally raise our concerns regarding the current visitor policy, specifically:
- The prohibition of overnight visitors
- The requirement that all visitors sign out by 20:00
While we appreciate the need for safety, order, and respect within shared accommodation, we believe that the current restrictions are overly rigid and do not reasonably reflect our status as working professionals.
As qualified medical practitioners, we carry significant responsibility within the healthcare system and work demanding hours under high levels of stress. Our living environment should provide not only rest, but also a reasonable degree of personal autonomy and dignity.
It is important to note that, even during our time as students in university residences, policies were more balanced allowing extended visiting hours and a limited number of overnight stays per month. The current rules, in comparison, feel unnecessarily restrictive and do not align with our professional standing or personal needs.
We respectfully request that management consider revising the current policy to a more reasonable and balanced framework. Suggested amendments include:
1. Extending visitor sign-out time to at least 23:00 or 00:00
2. Allowing a limited number of overnight visitors per resident per month (e.g., 2–4 nights).
We are committed to maintaining a respectful, safe, and professional living environment and are fully supportive of reasonable regulations that protect all residents. However, we believe that a more flexible approach will significantly improve morale, well-being, and overall quality of life.
We kindly request a meeting or formal response to discuss this matter further and work collaboratively toward a fair resolution.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
2026 Intern Doctors
