Petition ​Regarding the Appointment of the National Librarian/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the National Library of South Africa (NLSA)

National Librarian with no Library accreditation or affiliation must drop the title and rather be CEO, not National Librarian - and hopefully with changes in some pivotal roles that the National Librarian had (previously).

Please hire someone with LIS qualifications and experience

The National Librarian must have the appropriate library and information science qualifications. Without this there is no meaning to the title.

No to NLSA Librarian without LIS qualification

A National Librarian should be a qualified librarian

No appointment of non librarian to be a national librarian

We need to show our profession more respect. We cannot have someone representing us while not holding a qualification for our profession

This affects me as an Information science student

Our profession can't be undermine like this.

We want professional librarian to be employed, not the unqualified Librarians
