I think it is outrageous that the school thinks they are doing us a favour by giving us a 10% discount, everybody on full salary while we sit at home earning nothing yet they still expect us to pay

Appreciate a fee reduction noting the additional paid help I have had to hire to support kids in distance learning. Given my full time work commitment, I am unable to support kids.

The JESS Board members should be ashamed of the proposed 10% reduction and may find that their decision will have a profound impact on parents view of JESS as a whole going forward. They have failed in their duty to share the burden placed on families during this period, selfishly putting their own wellbeing and the school staff ahead of the wider JESS community that supports them financially. I firmly believe that all JESS parents are happy to support the school financially when a fair and reasonable compromised fee is offered recognizing the hard work, dedication and costs associated with home schooling children, particularly FS1.

This is a really difficult time and surely JESS can do more to help us get through by giving a fairer reduction on fees. We need to be in this together.

We feel that the fees for FS1 given the amount of input required for the teaching staff and amount of feedback given should be less. That along side the criticality of learning for the age group. A 10% drop in fees is not enough. Likewise an option to drop out of the year group without forefitting their place for FS2 should be given.

We need JESS to stand up and show support to their community. This is the time when everyone has had a wage cut. JESS has debentures in place and enjoying free rent. With all this in place I find it hard to accept that’s only a 10% discount has been provided. Please reconsider.

The have been emailing Mr O’Brien over the last week re these ridiculous costs. We are FS1 parents and completely horrified. Our child must be constantly supervised by us, we must now provide all resources that were/are part of our school fees. Most importantly all the research clearly says these kids learn through play based learning. Great while we are at school but not distance learning. I’m happy to share a summary of our numerous communications with the executive if u PM me.

Please reduce the fees due to the current environment, the current fees do not reflect the home schooling arrangement.

Would be nice to get some additional discount on the fees. Personally not getting paid for the month of April and maybe more. Can provide a letter from the employer if needed. Thanks.

It is unjust and the reduction in school fees needs to be more than the measly 10% offered. Most parents are also suffering from severely reduced incomes and the school needs to be less selfish.
