Petition on making Nelson have superfast internet at cheap rates and getting a server in Nelson

The reason Nelson needs super fast internet at cheap rates is that our internet speed is around 256 kbs per second, and we have a download speed of around 5mbs per second at best. At my house its around 1mbs per second, as opposed to Auckland who have an average download speed of 18.9mbs per second. Thats a considerable difference.

Look at the companies that are providing internet connections like Telecom. It's ripping you off, look at their ADSL, VDSL, ultra VDSL and ultra fiber prices compared to other companies. Yes other companies are cheaper in New Zealand, but compared to the United States and other countries around the world and, we are being taken advantage of for the use of internet here.

Here is a picture of all the servers that provide internet in New Zealand.

As you can see we are running off the Wellington’s server, and there are only three server’s in all of the South Island, as opposed to the six in the North Island, even though the South Island is much larger. The solution to Nelson’s slow internet connection is making a server here in Nelson. This will increase the internet speed, and decrease cost of laying down fibre optic cabling making nelson’s internet cheaper to. So no more waiting an hour for a web page to load.

In conclusion Nelson needs to have superfast internet at cheap rates because no one like’s waiting for pages to load, and having slow download and upload speeds for expensive price’s. Thats also why we need super fast internet for cheap rates in Nelson.
