This petition has been written to make our lives in a multicultural European Union easier, better, respected, protected and safe, and to clarify everyone’s rights and responsibilities.

We consider minorities to be those groups of people, who are traditional, ethnic, religious or sexual groups, immigrants and refugees who live in minority in any country as compared to the majority.

  1. Every citizen of a country has to have equal opportunities, for education and on the labor market, regardless of the minority or majority group they belong to.
  2. The cultural values, traditions and practices of the minority and majority have to be protected and nurtured equally.
  3. Minorities have to learn the language of the majority, while it should be made possible for the majority to also learn the language of the minority, ensuring easier understanding of one another.
  4. Each individual, regardless of their minority or majority group has to have the possibility to choose a belief and has to be protected when practicing it, until this does not affect basic human rights.
  5. Minority groups should have the right to associate for any reason and to practice, and develop their mother tongue.
  6. The rights and responsibilities of minorities living in a country have to be made available and reachable in every minority groups’ mother tongue.
  7. Minority groups have the right to be represented in every level of political decision making and in all forms of the media.
  8. The government and religion has to be clearly separated and independent from one another.
  9. Information on the history of any minority or majority group has to be available for everyone at any age, everywhere within a country.
  10. There should be a possibility for different communities to meet each other through non-formal exchange programs, on local, regional, national and international level.
