The sterile processing department has come a long way under the direction of Lydia Garica and Penese Clark. This letter is being written to urge senior leadership to act quickly over the loss of Penese Clark and prior loss of Lydia Garica. Together they have brought the sterile processing department to a standard that prior management were unable to. Within a couple of months they were able to reduse the amount of flashing of instruments. They were also able to reduce to amount of Operating Room and Doctors complaints, ie tray errors, missing instruments, bio-berdon and instrument turnover time.
