We the stakeholders directly impacted by the Sacramento City Unified School District right sizing plan, now petition the Sacramento City Unified School Board to delay the decision to close schools because there is evidence that the fiscal information being used is incomplete. We make this representation for the following reasons: 1. The District’s cost-benefit analysis does not include restricted funds. 2. The District has spent in the range of 61 million to 80 million of restricted funds over the past nine (9) years. 3. The District’s cost-benefit analysis combines actual numbers with average numbers which does not give a clear picture of the fiscal stability at school sites 4. There is an entity called Making Cents Work that is working on an alternate plan that will not require the closing of schools. 5. There are two opposing sets of figures in the public discussion regarding school solvency and enrollment/capacity ratios. Both emanate from the district. Both cannot be correct. We need an objective analysis. This will take some time.
