St. Peter Street is NOT an appropriate application for dedicated bike lanes. Common sense and safety must prevail!

St Peter Street stands alone as a highly trafficked one-way historic gateway—meeting the crucial needs of its prominent successful established businesses, restaurants, retail shops, and medical services. St. Peter Street offers constant daily usage space for its bustling high volume of large delivery vans, even larger band busses and trailers, motorist parking, valet parking, and more.
Bikeway paths require safe calm connected routes, setting forth protected paths.
St. Peter Street does not fit these descriptive requirements.
Pandemonium is predictable.

Compared to Wabasha, St Peter is a less-busy street. And isn’t it potentially more pleasant to sit outside and eat dinner on a street with fewer vehicles?

The reduction of parking, patio size, traffic lane width, etc. will be a hardship for the existing retail and entertainment venues along St. Peter Street. Visitors will be discouraged if the experience of convenient parking, safe traffic lanes and loading zones, appropriate patios and minimal traffic congestion are not maintained. The proposed bikeway changes on St. Peter will compromise the existing visitor and business experience. The bikeway location should be constructed in a location that does not have this level of entertainment and business vitality. Millions and millions of dollars have been invested in the creation of this very successful neighborhood.

The city needs to stop trying to put bike lanes on our busy streets. Instead they need to be put them less busy streets that are parallel to thes busy street and can get the biker to the same location but safer for the biker and driver.

IS NARROW AND EXTREMELY BUSY. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. WHOEVER CAME UP WITH IDEA TO PUT BIKE LANES ON BOTH GRAND AVE. AND ST. PETER ST. HAVE NEVER OWNED A BUSINESS!!!!

As a resident of the West Side and biker myself, I think Wabasha makes more sense to connect the West Side directly to downtown and to the Capitol Comples.

Where are people going to park to go to church? Where are my customers going to park? I work 7 days a week on St Peter and I can count the number of bikes I have seen this year on my toes.
