My cousin is deaf and also an ASL teacher for children. She has always taught me the importance of having the opportunity to learn this language and William and Mary should have a program!!

I would be so proud to see the school introduce these classes and make campus that much more accessible to Deaf students and families.

It's a language that millions of Americans use every day. More people need to learn Sign Language to be able to understand and communicate with the people who use it.

W&M is a very accepting & a close-knit community. As an ASL enthusiast, I feel like incorporating ASL in the curriculum or/and even as a credit language course would take W&M's D&I up by a couple notches and it would significantly make people aware about the other side of silence.

ASL is a foreign language and it is important for anyone . Deaf people are also part of this country and if everyone can sign them there will be lot more opportunity for your deaf brother and sister and they can be independent.
