Final supporters
On Old Big Cove, South of Goldsmith Schiffman Elementary, and on the East side of the road there is a portion that lacks a sidewalk/walking bridge. This span is between River Park Blvd. & Highland Park Drive, East of the Overton subdivision. This area is within the walking distance to the school. Many parents and community members would love to utilize this sidewalk for not only taking their children to school, but for walking, biking, etc. However, it cannot be used due to safety concerns. As of now, you have to walk on the narrow road/bridge where people are notorious for speeding. A crosswalk from the Overton Community across Old Big Cove to the sidewalk would also be needed. As more people move into the area, this situation will become more hazardous.

people fly down this road like its a race track. someone is going to get hurt soon just fix it before that happens!!!
Need a bridge for the kids. It makes no sense to have a school right there and no safe way for the neighborhood kids to walk over.
So tired of dodging traffic every time we try to walk to the park. The city needs to pay attention to this area before a tragedy occurs.
My kids want to bike to school but the traffic is insane. We need a safe way to get there without worrying about them getting hit by a car.
Used to live over there and it was scary even for an adult to walk that stretch. Way to many cars speeding near the elementary school.
