There is more evidence out there that they don't work than there is that they do. In hindsight. just look at results from demographically similar states Mn. (locked down) vs. Wi. (semi-free). Wearing one should certainly should be optional.

The state mandate has been lifted. Let the choice be their own decision if they feel they would like to wear the masks for their own protection.
