Petition for Upgrading the Commuter Shuttle Bus Program

Perhaps also contributions to the Public Transit system so that it can grow stronger as the need has grown. Something for all people.

Have them PU on the edge of town.

Most people who live in SF have to take public transportation to work or school, and many have to take more than one mode; ie, bus<>bus<>BART etc. to get to work. Having huge, empty, cushy buses with lounges and mood lighting and high speed internet roaming around the City is demoralizing and does not help the environment or traffic. But I can understand why someone who is used to that would resist changing to smaller buses and a hub to transfer. However given we are all trying to live here, some 'growing up' needs to happen. Please institute consolidated, smaller buses with a hub to transfer in place of these commuter 'shuttles'.

I was standing by the ticket booth at the Castro theater when a tech bus drove past. I felt the ground shake under me. These buses are too large for our infrastructure. We need consolidation of stops and routes as well as smaller vehicles within city limits.

I live near the corner of 18th and Valencia and feel that the morning and evening commuter shuttle bus traffic has become so dense that it is affecting the quality of life in our neighborhood negatively.

These buses are a hazard. One almost ran head first into our car driving around another bus.

They polilute the air nosiness on streets an divers are inconsiderate

I recently had to wait in the monsoon rain for five consecutive tech-shuttle-buses to unload at a Muni stop, before a Muni bus could get through to pick up its passengers. As a resident who lives and works in the City, I don't see any advantage from these shuttles, and plenty of disadvantages. Let's rethink the system.

Smaller buses would help with the congestion that is caused with the Big Buses.

I see these oversized buses in my neighborhood every day. They are seldom even half full and they cause congestion and pollution on residential streets. It's time for a rethink on how corporations can benefit more then just some of their own employees.

Smaller vehicles these are way to BIG for our city streets and represent the POWER of these companies

They take over MUNI (red painted curbs) bus stops - making the buses stack up or havde to stop in the opposite land and we have walk out into on-coming traffic to get on our MUNI bus to work - often late.

I agree with everything except the increased use of "Ride Share". We need to also limit the ride stare programs. They are a bigger problem than the busses.

These buses are too large for the residential streets on which they travel. Among other problems, the noise they create is an environmental public health issue for residents, and they are not in concordance with the San Francisco General Plan on reduction of transportation noise.

The buses need to be either smaller or less frequent.

These buses are too large for some of our current infrastructure. They make commuting dangerous by blocking lanes by their pickup stops, taking up both sides of the road and so on. I would like to see alternatives.

Unless we take steps to reduce or eliminate the negative impacts, problems: delays & traffic congestion, pollution from the over-sized buses, and the displacement of neighbors will get worse,
