This is a petition to coax the university into removing the religious preacher who comes onto FGCU campus. The VP of student affairs holds the power to suspend or terminate his ability to come onto campus to preach so long as it is found that he is in direct violation of FGCU's Public Expression and Assembly regulations. The regulations state that "Speech activities must not disrupt the normal operations of the University or infringe on the rights of other members of the University Community." I believe that his use of a megaphone at max volume can be found to be a disruption of normal operations, and the intolerance he preaches can be found to be an infringement on our rights as members of the University community. We spend our own money to attend FGCU to learn, not to be preached at. He is on University property and his preaching of his religious intolerance is something that I am tired of. Once this petition reaches the goal amount of signatures I will present it to President Bradshaw and the VP of Student Affairs and move forward in my campaign to get him removed. Currently I have sent an e-mail to both of those gentlemen in relations to the situation and I am awaiting a response. I plan to hopefully have a meeting with the both of them to continue dialogue about the situation. Thank you for your signature. I promise to do what I can to get this man removed from our campus.
