We the attendees and visitors of Masjid Al-Tawhid (Leyton – London) request the reinstating of the Main Khateeb & Lecturer of the Masjid (Murtaza Khan); he has served the Masjid and its community for many years indirectly, and directly for the last 2 years and feel that his absence/removal is a major loss for the Masjid Community. He holds balanced views in many matters concerning Muslims and Non-Muslims, and has expressed them on many occasions at Masjid Al-Tawhid. Thus it is quite sad that certain words of his are manipulated or taken out of context to show otherwise by external organisations/ bodies. He has brought much stability to the Masjid and its attendees and hence we present our names below requesting his reinstatement as khateeb & lecturer. This petition will be forwarded to the Commission that has influenced the masjid's decision re this matter.

Sheikh Murtaza Khan is a moderate sheikh with understanding of todays society as well as being well grounded in islamic theologoy. He is an asset to the masjid to which the committee need to recognise. Bring back Sheikh Murtaza
He offers the youth a practical alternative to bettering themselves and getting off the streets by establishing a relationship with God and working on being a good human being.
It's very easy to take small snippets from hours of a lecture in order to manipulate. I urge you if you are truthful to yourself you will listen to the whole lecture to get a proper understanding of the message and the principles of this man. Thank you
Why has this happened? A very good speaker who connects with the elderly and youth. Many times I have heard him say to contribute towards this society I and to never cheat the system. Clearly a minority of Muslims do this. This shows some of his contributions in his lectures when addressing the Muslims/non Muslims.
I have never heard him say anything which is against British Values in the friday sermons or while conducting any lectures/interpreting in the Mosque, lectures are aimed at tackling mostly family and social issues within the Muslim community in Leyton therfore the CC should stop pressurising Msoques to ban their Imams
Please reinstate this Imam as soon as possible

In challenging times like this Muslim leaders are rare. I find Murtaza khan as an individual who brings community together and gives them direction.. I pray that those who are concerned in making decisions see the bigger picture. May Allah give them tawfeeq to make the right decision and reinstate the imam.
