Keep our green spaces and recreational facilities for our residents to keep the community great. Kids learn to ride their bikes on the track, soccer and baseball fields are an important part in keeping this community healthy and vibrant.

Four of my five daughters WALKED to this high school. When young families look for great towns to move to, they want their children to walk to school. The old BHS will make a wonderful park for all ages in the mean time. And it's a great place for July 4th fireworks!

As a local resident who patronizes shops, restaurants, and entertainment in Blacksburg, as well as attends church there, and one who plans to move to Blacksburg within one year, I advocate for utilizing the land and recreational facilities at the old high school location for the use and enjoyment of the current residents , as well as for future residents who relocate here. There are positive benefits to the community to utilize these resources until such time as growth in population and tax revenues justify the building of a school on the property.

This needs to be preserved land. The track, baseball field, and soccer field are a huge part of our community. Destroying it to build more houses no one can afford would be horrible!
