Petition for Steve Dean to resign as the Hickory Hills HOA Board President
The homeowners of Hickory Hills HOA respectfully request that President Steve Dean resign immediately due to his failure to complete his fiduciary duties to protect the community's money. According to the most recent Hickory Hills Balance Sheet dated May 31, 2025, we had $346,420.62. Currently, according to President Steve Dean, only approximately $18,000 has been found.
In Tennessee, all HOA Board members, especially the President, have a fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of the homeowners. This means President Steve Dean must put the community's welfare ahead of his own personal interests.
The Bylaws of the Hickory Hills Homeowners Association, section 5.07, require specific steps to be completed to ensure the safety of the homeowners' money. At the last HOA Board Meeting, President Steve Dean was not able to provide the homeowners with one measure that he took to safeguard our money, and we are currently missing over $320,000.
Under Tennessee state law (Tennessee Code 48-58-701-703), President Steve Dean can be personally held liable for his failure to ensure common-sense steps were taken to protect the homeowners' money. The homeowners' only interest at this time is for President Steve Dean to resign and allow the Board Vice President to take over and navigate our community's financial crisis.
The homeowners of Hickory Hills have lost confidence in President Steve Dean as the President of our HOA Board, and we are asking him to resign immediately.
