Petition for Printer Access at ICMP
We, the music students of ICMP, find it concerning that we do not have access to printers on campus. In class, we are regularly told not to use our phones and instead to provide printed sheet music or use iPads or laptops. However, many students at ICMP do not own a computer or tablet, leaving them at a disadvantage.
As musicians, having reliable access to printed materials is essential for our studies, rehearsals, and performances. Without access to printers, students face unnecessary obstacles in meeting course requirements and engaging fully in their education.
We respectfully request that ICMP provide students with access to on-campus printing facilities. To make this sustainable, printing could be offered on a pay-per-use basis, with charges automatically applied to student accounts (for example, 10p per black-and-white page or 15p per colour page).
This solution would ensure fairness, support students who cannot afford additional devices, and improve the overall learning environment, while also covering the running costs of the service.
