PETITION FOR PIANOS
SIGN THIS PETITION TO STAND UP TO DCL
When our administrators let us down, it falls on US to enact change. DCL was presented with a perfect opportunity to put a beautiful baby grand piano in one of the student lounges for free, and refused, citing "accessibility concerns". When they learned of this, both the Director of Student Activities and the Provost herself said that DCL's decision made no sense.
Meanwhile, there are pianos present in East, Village, and Grad. Given DCL's disappointing response on this issue, is it then no wonder why these other residential areas also have such nicer living accommodations? If DCL can't so much as sign off on a free piano for us, how can we expect their help on other issues, such as actually fixing our broken TVs? There are a lot of issues which the other freshman senators and I want to solve, but without any administrative support, we won't be able to accomplish anything.
To demand change, we must be united, and it is my hope that this petition will reflect that unity to the administration. By signing this petition, you will show that you support your senators' push not only for pianos in the first-year lounges, but for across-the-board improvements in freshman living conditions.
