Please, join us in sending a message requesting President Donald J. Trump to instruct US Attorney General William Barr to protect our basic humanitarian rights at hospitals and ERs across our nation. We believe the guidelines for Covid-19, which prevent a parent, child, or guardian from being by the side of their loved one, is an inhumane and cruel practice. There are numerous accounts of people suffering in ERs and hospitals alone because a loved one was not allowed to be there for them. Many have passed from this life alone. Many parents have been denied access to their children. By signing this petition you agree this is a heartless practice which should not be allowed. No one should be put in such a predicament whether patient, family, or medical caregiver. Please, sign today! Share, share, share, let’s make this go viral. My brother in law was admitted without my sister being allowed to stay with him. She has power of Attorney him and they would not let her in. They had him sign papers without him knowing why. They did not bathe him or change his clothes either.

Signed in honor of my mother who is suffering with Parkinson's and in the nursing home. I have begged to be tested and able to come stay with her. But they keep refusing. I was told I could come in when she is in the active stages of dying and not before. This is elder abuse.

Also.. Moms should be able to have their husbands at their prenatal appts. Can you imagine being told you lost your baby and having to take that in alone and then go and tell the father?! If the waterpark and restaurants can have people together then Dads should be allowed at their prenatal appts and Ultrasounds!!

As a nurse, I believe we need to move beyond the drastic measures of NO family member with a patient with any diagnosis. Test that family member, mask and gown if needed, and let them stay with their loved one. This rule has done much more harm than good!

My father was admitted on 05/03/20 and my mother wasn’t allowed to visit him- advising that if she could in the event his life was in danger. On 05/14/2020, my father passed. She never saw him within that timeframe. They were married 57 years. Our prayer is that my dad knew we would have been there if we had been allowed.

Totally inhumane! My loved one got his cancer diagnosis alone, had 2 surgeries alone, was held at the hospital even tho he and family requested immediate release to hospice and then died alone!

Was not allowed in, except to triage, after they could not make sense of what my dad was saying and he could not tell them why he was even in the ER because of dementia.
