The ACC has belittled and stomped on North Carolina State University for far too long. Most recently, the ejection of two former NCSU players at a basketball game has sparked a media storm. Anti-ACC sentiment is running high in Raleigh. NCSU is the flagship university in North Carolina, and it is also one of the biggest football/basketball traditions along the East Coast. The SEC doesn't have a presence in the state, and NCSU is the logical choice for conference realignment. The ACC has cast out one of its founding members and biggest athletic programs every since they decided that Duke vs. UNC in basketball and VT in football are the only things that matter. NCSU is sick and tired of being pushed around by the ACC. The SEC is a football conference, and State is the biggest football program in NC. The SEC also needs more basketball tradition outside of UK and Florida, therefore a team with multiple NCAA championships like State makes sense.
