Encourage volunteer efforts and remove some of the red tape for volunteering.

Having lived in lower Manhatten I can tell you that the lack of green space in short distance of your home is very depressing. it's unnatural. All the mixed use in the greater downtown neighborhood will take their toll over time. ie: Central Park in NY is gorgeous. But it take some an hour to walk there or you have to pay for a cab ride, if it's in your budget to do so. I enjoy our local park every day. Parks I have to drive to I use 10% of the time. our little Roanoke Park is packed every Sat and Sunday with little kids and men 0layi g basketball. it ties our community together. it's healthy.

Please save our parks by keeping them maintained- especilly the small pocket parks Mary aedna Wells.

Our parks, greenways, trails and other green spaces are a treasure because they contribute to the quality of life for which we are known. Thanks to City leaders and staff for their support and hard work to date. We need to grow that support to maintain this valuable resource.
