The administration saw the fire we started and finally chose to renew Matt Myers. This is a massive win for the film program and proves they cannot ignore us when we push back. Keep your eyes open because we expect the administration to keep their word for once.

Final supporters
We, the students of Scottsdale Community College, petition to have Matt Myers remain a teacher at SCC.
Scottsdale Community College is known as one of the top film schools in Arizona and is especially well known for their Cinematograhy program. This is due, in whole, to the wonderful guidance and knowledge of Matt Myers. However, his contract has not been renewed and he may have to leave at the end of the Spring 2016 semester. We feel as if SCC does not have anyone adequate enough to fill his place at the School or in our hearts. The professional standard he has established and quality education he has delivered is uncontested. With years of experience in the film industry and multiple personal connections within, he has helped many students climb the job ladder and reach their dream career. It will take multiple teachers and cost the school more money to replace a man with this level of talent.
We demand that Matt Myer's contract be reinstated and that he continue to teach at Scottsdale Community College.

Cinematography never came easy to me and matt took the time to teach everything multiple ways to make sure everyone in class understood the material. After i took his class i knew SCC was the right choice.
Matt was one of the most knowledgeable and encouraging instructors I had at SCC. He found ways to inspire me, despite the fact that I had little to no interest in cinematography when I took his class.
Myers is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely cares about encouraging and teaching students who show initiative. To remove Myers is to deny hundreds of future filmmakers the technical prowess of an industry tested cinematographer. Shame on admin
Matt Myers is an excellent teacher. I am taking his Cinematography class this semester, and I have learned so much. He has always made time to answer any questions I have had about the subject. His classroom and studio demonstrations are very instructive. I feel it would be a major step backwards for the SCC film program if they were to lose Matt Myers.
I had Matt as a teacher for Cinematography and I can tell you his knowledge is invaluable. Everything I know I grant to him. Now I'm a camera operator for a national tv show. Thanks Matt!
Matt Myers is the best teacher @ SCC without him the ASU is no better than us. Matt cares about his students and he is just the best teacher, he knows his stuff, he is passionate and he makes the classes fun and interactive #SaveMatt

Routinely have camera crew and grips on my shoots that go to SCC. The only professor they talk about learning from is this guy. Never met him. But his reputation in my field proceeds him. Might be a good thing to reconsider kicking him to the curb.
