Teach our children that they should be in charge of their choices.. They must know that they have a choice and deserve to keep having choices. Making informed decisions is extremely important and we as parents need to fight for our children to keep having and making choices.

Masking our kids is NOT backed by science. Masks are useless. They offer next to no protection against virus-sized particles or small aerosols. Wearing a mask to prevent catching Covid is like throwing sand at a chain-link fence: it doesn't work! DO THE RIGHT THING AND UNMASK OUR KIDS!

My grandchildren go to Sparta schools and I believe it is extremely unhealthy both physically and mentally to be forced to wear a tight fitting covering over one’s mouth and nose for several hours in a day. Where has common sense gone? Children should be allowed to breathe freely. Little ones have no power and some teachers won’t even let them uncover their nose for a short time. This is very scary for many children. It is also difficult to concentrate on learning when they have to worry about breathing. They have missed so much education already. Enforcing mask wearing will only result in conflict at school when the focus should be on learning. If some parents want their children masked up they should be allowed to. If parents object then their child should not be forced to wear a mask.

The BOE represents all parents and children in our community. I understand it may be difficult to make everyone happy. It is however, your responsibility to protect and fight for what is best for our community. There are certain things that the BOE and our schools are responsible for like what is being taught in the classroom, ensuring the buildings are safe, transportation, etc. parents are responsible for the health of their children and the government nor the BOE has the right to tell individuals to mask their children. The decision to wear a mask or not it should be left to parents. Our children need to be back in school in an environment where they can flourish and not be worried about masks, feeling uncomfortable or being scared. It is very difficult to trust the CDC and Governor Murphy when they are always changing their story or the rules they want the public to follow. My youngest came home complaining of headaches everyday when we returned full day. She was getting dizzy and scared she would pass out. This is America and we all have a responsibility to fight for our children to grow up in this great country knowing they have freedom of choice. The last year and a half our leaders have done nothing try to divide us and it is time for us to stand up for ourselves and our children. Be strong and help us protect our children and their futures.

The opportunity for a quality primary education seeds the foundation for the next 12 years. It is heartbreaking to imagine a young child with a “hand” covering their mouth muzzling any opportunity for conversation or facial expression for 6 or more hours per day. By doing so we are sacrificing the academic social and psychological health of our youngest children . We need to consider the long term cost of these decisions arbitrarily made by those is doesn’t impact . We must speak for our children.
