Over the years camp has come to be a unique and valuable opportunity for our kids to unplug and disconnect from their screens, the constant notifications, and adverse pressures of social media.

With that in mind we are respectfully submitting this petition in support of implementing a no-phone policy for LITs at Arowhon.

Mara is aware and open to considering this as long as the LIT parent community agrees.

In the past, LITs have been permitted phones because they were training to be staff, and staff are allowed phones. While we understand the intent of this, we have come to learn so much about the negative implications of phone use, especially the impact of social media on our kids' well being. We firmly believe that the consequences now outweigh the benefits.

Camp is such a special place where our kids have been present, engaged and focused in the moment with their friends and community. Without trying to sound too dramatic, this summer at camp will likely be the last break they have from their phones, EVER. We all know how valuable this can be and believe they do too.

We are asking for your support by signing this petition. As LIT parents we have a special opportunity to affect a positive change for our kids.
