The city finally agreed to put up the signs for the twins. It has been a long road to get here but we did it together.

Final supporters
When you arrive in most cities, there is a sign saying “Home of (famous resident).” With the recent Olympic gold medal win for Women’s Hockey against Canada,we think the Lamoureux twins deserve a sign when entering Grand Forks. They have been a staple part of our community for many years and have been a great example to women and young girls alike. They have won three Olympic medals in total. Two silver and now one gold medal. We as a Grand Forks community have been very proud of these two and we think they deserve recognition in the form of a permanent sign. Please sign this petition so we can make this happen!

Reaching this level of support has been a long and exhausting process but seeing so many of you agree that these twins deserve recognition keeps me going. It is clear that our town wants to honor their legacy and I am not stopping until we see that sign on the road.

I think it's definately the right thing to do!!! They helped get the gold for USA!!!!
Awesome idea! Think of the great recruiting tool this could have been if UND still had women's hockey. *sigh* Still - rock on ladies!!! You deserve to be honored by Grand Forks, ND!!

We're neighbors of the "Golden Girls" and the entire neighborhood is so proud of them.
Very proud of these 2 ladies and their determination. We need to show them how proud we are with their name on a sign or billboard!!
