When I only started my teaching career the ETRC was the only place to find support and encouragement from the fellow EFL teachers from different corners of Ukraine and from abroad. It is there that I made good friends who share my passion for learning and teaching English. Since then ETRC has been modernized a lot, and now provides even a wider range of services to EFL teachers of Kyiv, and other cities and towns of Ukraine. Thanks to ETRC I have taken part in E-TEACHER scholarship programs, and have become a member of TESOL-Ukraine. I still regularly attend workshops, borrow library books, and update my knowledge of EFL methodology at the ETRC. Unlike in any other similar organizations, I am always welcome there, and feel so comfortable when reading through the latest EFL specialist magazines, working on the computer, or taking part in the seminar discussions. The opening hours are extremely convenient, and so is the location so that I can always afford to drop in after the classes in the afternoon, or come on Saturday morning. Moreover, I look forward to monthly ETRC newsletters to learn about the upcoming events (seminars, conferences, webinar sessions), and find out what new resources are available at the ETRC. In fact, all the faculty members of university I work at are grateful for the opportunity to participate in professional development programs provided by the ETRC. I do not think that we could do without ETRC, and actually do not see any reasons why this may ever happen. I hope to see the ETRC staff as busy and lively as always, with many familiar as well new smiling faces. Thank you for your kind assistance and enthusiasm!

sETRC has changed all my life forever as I was taught there a lot of things, I met a lot of American officers who taught me to do academic writing, communicative strategies, planning lessons, keep students motivating and so on. There I BORROWED librarry items free and shared that with my students and colleagues. It is our home and we dont want it to be closed. Thanks for your care.

ETRC is the only place where the Ukrainian English teachers can learn teaching methodology for free.
It is the place where we can hear real English,
where we can communicate to each other and practise some English.
The America House is also a very nice place but it is always overcrowded, not big enough for all English learners and teachers.
Kyiv is such a big city ,that we really need a separate place for teachers.
Especially it is sad to learn that ETRC can be closed when the President of Ukraine proclaimed the next year as the year of the English language.
They are advertising the Go Global programme, admitting that most of the Ukrainian teachers have a very poor level of spoken English.
You know that the English language is the language of communication and understanding. It is the most important language in the world.
So who will teach our students English if ETRC is closed and the English teachers won't be able to learn and improve their English and English teaching methodology by themselves.
The peace in the world is more important than money and different funds.
So think about that before making the decision to close ETRC in the capital of Ukraine.
The better teachers know English and Teaching Methodology, the better they can teach and the better countries and people around the world can understand each other.

ETRC has gained a wonderful reputation among Ukrainian EL teachers and is widely known for its diverse activities.. If there were questions about the choicebetween these two grant projects, ETRC would surely be a winner.

I am so excited about ETRC and the people who work there and come to that wonderful place! And now, when I figured out that it may be closed forever, I had terrible feelings and dont want it to happen at all. Please, let the people of Ukraine continue the investigation of Americathrought visiting ETRC! Great thanks to Natalia Pokladova, who serves ETRC and makes it a great place to spend all the free time. Let my point of view be heard and understood. Thank you very much for all your work and dedication!!!

The ETRC is a place where English teachers and EFL students can grow both professionally and personally. Here is the video that includes interviews of the US Embassy Officers, university staff, school teachers and others who believe that the ETRC should continue to operate:

I want to sign this petition in order to emphasize the importance of ETRC work, on my lessons I use a lot of knowledge I gained and skills I mastered here. The schedule and location of America House are not appropriate for me.
