We, the undersigned international students at Federation University, are writing to express our deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent changes to the post-study work visa regulations in Australia. As you may be aware, the duration of the post-study work visa has been reduced from five years to two years. This policy change has significant implications for our futures, career prospects, and financial stability.

Many of us chose to study in Australia, and specifically at Federation University, with the understanding that we would be eligible for a five-year post-study work visa. This extended period is crucial for gaining valuable work experience, repaying student loans, and contributing to the Australian economy. The reduction to a two-year visa significantly undermines our plans and places us in a precarious situation.

We have recently been informed that there has been a precedent where the results for 13 students and some from partner institutions were expedited to accommodate their visa applications. In light of this, we respectfully request that Federation University takes immediate action to release our results promptly before the July 1st deadline. This would allow us to apply for the extended visa duration before the new policy takes full effect.

1. Immediate Release of Results Prior to July 1st: Expedite the release of results for all international students who are nearing the completion of their studies. This will enable us to apply for the post-study work visa under the previous terms.
2. Equal Treatment: Ensure that all students, regardless of their study program or partner institution status, receive fair and equal treatment regarding the release of their results.
3. Support and Advocacy: Actively advocate on our behalf with the relevant immigration authorities to address the adverse impact of the visa duration reduction on current students.
