I've been taking more than so-called recommended dosage already but not nearly enough according to your standards.

Agree! I had to supplement and take at least 6,000 IU's as part of fertility treatment.

It's ridiculous how much the RDA is! Go out in the sun for 20 mins and it's estimated your body makes 10,000 IU I read. I have to take 10 pills or gelcaps for God's sake...a handrull of pills just to get my Vit D plus all the other supplements I take!!!I used to be able to buy the higher amt of vit D in one cap until they changed it a couple of yrs ago. I was pissed!!! Change it back for God's sake. We are not backward children you have to police on our supplements. Tell me someone who has died from an overdose of Vit D! Sick of this crap from the govt. And yet they let all these toxic chemicals in our food and products that we eat off and breathe in. Health Canada has cancelled a few really good products I used all the time and now can no longer get. Something else that really pissed me off because their decision harmed my health! I have a lot more gripes with Health Canada but enough for now. As if what I say will make any difference. Govt out of control of it's people.

Health Canada’s recommendations for vitamin D intake are too low, and IMMEDIATE ACTION IS REQUIRED to correct this error that is putting ALL Canadians at risk.
