I have never understood why our guidelines and the states are so different.

I take 10000 IU Vitamin D3 everyday. Buy it in 5000IU caps in the states. This is much more than the Sunshine Vitamin.

I've been taking 10,000 iu / day for YEARS after my health care professional told me everyone north of the 49th? parallel is Vitamin D deficient - & how could we NOT be? We let the sun touch our FACES alone! for more than 6 months of the year! I'd no idea it can affect me in so many ways though - I thought it was just for mood! (It's my "Sunshine in a pill") My friend gave her surly teenage son just ONE Vitamin D pill, & his disposition almost INSTANTLY changed for the better!)

A study by Dr. William S. Grant PhD. and also (I think) Dr. Rheihold Vieth PhD. showed that having optimal vitamin d status in nearly all Canadians could save the health care system 10 - 12 BILLION C$ in our taxes per year with increasing dividends as long term chronic illnesses fail to manifest themselves like MS, RA, CHF, etc. We certainly could use those savings for infrastructure repairs etc. - Jackie Bain

Time for health organizations to stop telling the massies the complete opposite of what is actually good for the body. Everything is a lie for money
