given the copious amounts of research on vitamin d, it's only right the our government should re-consider its rda levels and inform all Canadians of the absolute need for this crucial vitamin as well as which type to buy - vitamin D3 (yes, that's a #3)

This is such an inexpensive vitamin to take, there is really no excuse for going short! However, I would like Health Canada to also indicateupper daily limite for prevenative, as well as for people with chronic conditions such as cancer. My Cancer Oncologist sayshe doesn't beleive in Vitamin D supplementation for prostate cancer. Someoneneedsto educate our doctors!

Hurray for better health! By keeping us on the edge if health and sickness the government makes money. Let's keep our money in our pockets and live more fulfilling lives

It costs more money to buy D3 in 1000 iu when you should probably be taking at least 5000 iu. Canadians would save money and I don't think big pharma has ever been concerned with Canadians saving money. Plus, all these extra pills we need to take just to get the real daily dosage is putting more of the pill's 'filler in our systems which I doubt is a good thing.

For 4.5 months I suffered with excruciating pain both in my neck and at the base of my skull. After numerous test including X-rays, bone scan & CT scans as well as steroid shots to my neck & skull it was finally determined that my problem was low vitamin D. After a few weeks at 12000IU a day my neck & head pain was gone!!
