The members of Local 1-2 are requesting management and the union leadership to bargain for hazard pay. We understand the commitment to the public and to the company to maintain the system at its full potential. Money is not the focal point, but the idea behind it is to provide for our families, relieve financial burden, and the critical risk factor put on the employed due to this pandemic.
Money is not worth a life or substitute, but we are the ones in the field putting ourselves and our families at risk for no extended compensation. It should not be downplayed by any excuses of what we’ve done in the past since this pandemic is unprecedented. The risk outweighs the reward; the people who suffer the most if we become affected is our loved ones. We could not prepare for something of this caliber, but considering our response and handling of the situation, we feel a hazard pay is duly deserved.
By signing this Petition you are in agreement that a Hazard pay should be negotiated between the officers of Local 1-2 and Con Edison . Although we appreciate the support from the public, we ask that this be signed only by active employees.

I am truly stunned to see that one thousand people have signed this. This is entirely due to the colleagues who stepped up to show we are united. I never imagined this level of support when I started.

As a member of westchester ERF & GDS we remain fully staffed and fully operating during this time while the remaining company is being granted paid time off. Our job function hasn’t changed and we continue to do it at 100% knowing the risks.
I’m still working in the infected environment. As a veteran, I’m familiar with the hazardous duty pay I received in the military and consider this to bevonly fair, considering the circumstances...
con ed states to use disinfectant wipes after jobs etc in their instructions to deal with this virus, but there are none available. we don't even have sinks available to wash hands.
We are keeping the power and heat going threw this and taking personal risk entering people's homes to keep them safe while providing them with this much needed service
We risk our lives day in and day out to provide utilities to the greatest city in the world. Now, not only are we risking our lives, we are risking our families lives as well by going to work everyday and possibly becoming infected with Covid19. Hazardous work pay should be given to the employees that cant work from home.

Stay Safe out there ladies and gents. Yes! There’s coned workers home with their families and being compensated. Then we have the people on the field performing their job duties and being exposed to covid19 greatly, how do you as a company justify that ConEd? Do the right thing here.
