I'm a graduate student at UCD, and I want to remind everyone that research continues to point to suicide as the second-leading causing of death among college students. And y'all aren't investing in decent mental health support?? Get it together. Fair bargaining now.

The pay for those "administering" UC Med Center has gone through the roof and is still climbing. The workers actually helping the patients survive don't even get the respect of honest negotiating.

Mental health should not only be a priority of the University in order to serve and protect your students but you are also putting the entire community of Davis at risk. This includes my 2 year-old that attends preschool on your campus. I can't begin to think of the consequences your inaction can have on my baby. How many campus shootings will it take for this to be a priority for you, your faculty and staff, the students and the entire Davis population?

Over the past several years we have seen the continual increase in access to mental health services as well as severity in symptom presentation and diagnosis. I greatly saddens me the the UC does not recognize our crucial role in the well being of the students on our campuses.

The mental health of students is one of the most prominent factors in their success and retention. Current supports are not adequate and your staff is burning out. This is a liability.

This is very disheartening if the UC cannot budge. Please recognize the good work we are all doing

Our week is essential to the broader campus mission and campus security. We request fair consideration and compensation for being on the front lines of the most critical services and risk management of our campus communities.
