We, the undersigned residents of Oreana, Il, are writing to express our deep concerns regarding the recent increase in break-ins and speeding within our community. We believe that urgent action must be taken to address these issues and ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. The Recent break-ins in our community have demonstrated the need for a more proactive stance against crime, rather than simply reacting to incidents after they occur.

1. Enhanced Policing Addressing Break-Ins:

Firstly, we urge the local law enforcement to allocate additional resources towards combating the rise in break-ins. The frequency of these incidents has instilled fear and anxiety among our community members, affecting our quality of life. We request that the police department:

a. Increase patrols and surveillance our town, especially during nighttime hours when break-ins are more likely to occur.

b. Collaborate with neighborhood watch groups and encourage community involvement in reporting suspicious activities.

c. Conduct regular educational programs to raise awareness about home security measures and crime prevention.

2. Improved Policing during School Hours to Reduce Speeding:

Secondly, we call upon law enforcement to prioritize the safety of our children by enhancing policing efforts during the beginning and end of school hours. Speeding vehicles pose significant risks to students, teachers, and pedestrians in school zones. To address this issue, we request that the police department:

a. Increase patrols and enforcement in school zones and surrounding areas to ensure compliance with speed limits.

b. Utilize radar monitoring and traffic control personnel to deter speeding drivers during peak school hours.

c. Collaborate with local schools and parent-teacher associations to raise awareness about the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
