We are asking for your support for our request of E-Learning as a proactive alternative option by Zionsville Community Schools before the coronavirus infection starts to spread. E-LEARNING doesn't mean the school will be closed! Instead, we are asking for our schools to provide this option to the families who want to keep their children at home and still have their attendance counted. Most importantly, it will also benefit those students who choose to attend school by providing larger personal space and more sanitation resources and therefore decreasing the risk of infection. By providing E-LEARNING, Zionsville Community Schools will have a better chance of preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus amongst the students, teachers, and staff members. We implore that the district take proactive actions by not waiting until confirmed cases occur and by offering this valuable option of E-Learning.

This international COVID-19 epidemic has become a national and local public health crisis that is spreading at an increasingly accelerated rate. Currently, all Avon Community Schools have been closed after a student tested positive and a second student started showing symptoms of the coronavirus. Local companies such as Eli Lilly have issued Work From Home policies. Neighboring state colleges/schools such as Ohio State University are offering online E-learning to students. There is a case in the Boone County as of March 10th, which bring the total number of cases to 6 across the state. To avoid further spread of COVID-19 within our community, now is the time for ZCS to offer online classes.

In total, over 7,000 students attend Zionsville Community schools, along with around 400 educators who are employed by ZCS. Providing E-LEARNING becomes an urgent request and all students, teachers, and staff as well as their families. We will benefit greatly by taking proactive instead of reactive actions.

In addition to E-LEARNING, we are also asking the schools to focus extra attention on sanitizing high traffic areas and commonly used surfaces including counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, light switches, and keyboards.
At this crucial moment, it is of utmost importance that we ensure our children and teachers/staff remain safe and healthy by taking timely and proactive preventative actions to create and maintain an uncontaminated environment. Our school community deserves all practical and tangible measures taken proactively to prevent any possibility of community spread. Please sign this petition and make E-LEARNING as an option available ASAP, instead of waiting for a confirmed case!

Please do the right and responsible thing and either close ZCS or provide e-learning options. By the time a kid tests positive, it will be two weeks too late.

Very accurate I have personally seen the devastation coronavirus has caused on my community and I wish Zionsville will proactively protect both students and faculty from this disease

Please institute a common-sense e Learning initiative, for families for which it is feasible, to allow for more social distancing choices, within our community, as we cooperatively collaborate to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on health care systems and healthcare workers.

Let’s take measures now to protect our community. Protect the at risk and the teachers and those whose parents are at risk. Please consider web conferences for e-learning.

What is happening in Italy and South Korea shows that this virus is more dangerous and spreads faster than flu. Let's keep the kids, their family and our community safe.

The school can’t tell me anything so why should I trust it. It makes me feel unsafe.
