Dunlora Petition for Private Snow Plowing Services
Dear Fellow Dunlora Community Members,
We are gathering signatures to demonstrate support for a private snow plowing service in our community. With sufficient support, we plan to present a formal petition to the HOA Board requesting budget allocation for this service.
Current Situation & Need:
Although our neighborhood streets fall under VDOT's maintenance responsibility, recent winter seasons have revealed significant delays in snow removal response times. While primary roadways receive prompt attention during winter weather events, our residential streets frequently remain untreated for extended periods, even after modest snowfall accumulations. This delayed response creates hazardous conditions that:
- Limit emergency service access
- Prevent safe commuting to work and school
- Restrict access to essential services and supplies
- Increase risk of accidents
Proposed Solution:
We propose that the Dunlora HOA Board investigate costs for a private snow plowing service that would:
- Provide priority plowing of our neighborhood streets
- Ensure timely snow removal after accumulation of 2+ inches
- Create safer conditions for all residents
- Complement existing VDOT services
- Operate independently of VDOT's schedule
Financial Considerations:
This service would require funding through increased HOA dues or existing reserves. We believe the investment in our community's safety and accessibility during winter weather events justifies this expense.
