This move by McIntosh gallery is wrong on so many levels.

I met Don Bonham in 1968 when we were hired to teach in Herb Ariss's Art Department at Beal Tech in London. Bonham shook up the London scene, representing the polar opposite of the regionalism of Greg Curnoe and Jack Chambers. Bonham's work is still making waves.

As one of many artists mentored by Bonham, and a Canadian Citizen, I am very disappointed by the actions of the McIntosh Gallery. I trust that this letter, and the attached signatures will have a positive effect of changing the minds of those wishing to deaccess Miss 50.
Mr. Graff has made some very excellent points in this letter, and I do hope the gallery will reconsider their judgement.

I became a friend of Don's in Montreal where I also took one of his Sculpture classes. When I think of him, he was a teacher with a sense of humour and a love of life. I miss B.J., Leroy & most of all Don. thanks for the guidance. Kristian

It is a dangerous and slippery slope when society starts to rewrite history. The question is not if it is appropriate by todays standards, but was it acceptable by the standard at the time the sculpture was created.
