I am in total disagreement with this. It is not fair. How can a democratic country like this can approve such a crazy thing?
We all have the right to study and be what we really must be. Medical Doctors in USA as we were once in our country.

This situation is very unfair for all who had already applied for examination after being told they are "eligible " and have been waiting for an answer even after exam application charges were paid ,this is clearly a sign of discriminatory treatment to all professionals immigrants .The ECFMG did not communicate or express any reason to the applicants for the extreme delay in the whole process but accepted the payment .Shame of institution !

I applied and paid the Step 1 about 9 month ago and submited all the documents ECFMG requested to me since Feb 27 and never received their answer. Last comunication 10 weeks ago they said will answer "shortly" and still waiting. Never send an email or letter with a reason or excuse. I'm a legal inmigrant, now American Citizen from Cuba who leave Cuba with MINSAP autorization

We live in a globalised world and Cuba is now free, why go backwards...esp with Medical practitioners.
I am a cuban physician in the way to take step 1. Please, do not cut our dreams like cuban goverment did before.

Cuba has one of the best medical schools and medical research in the world. When you remove monetary profits from the picture, you truly have a honest institution. And that institution is the Cuban medical system. Let them sit for the exams. Banning these students form taking the exams is not American.
