This is a huge issue from the client's perspective in terms of adequate coverage, as well as from the Host Agency standpoint, with trying to help advisors manage licensing across Canada. I believe in continuing education, and so this could be included as part of the requirements, but consistent licensing across Canada is an absolute must for travel insurance.

The barriers put in place make no sense and do not keep the client or consumer any safer.

The need for a license for every province is unnecessary and costly. Costly for us to obtain, and costly if the client buys the wrong insurance coverage because they can't purchase it from the travel advisor who knows what they need. If a client wishes to work with an out-of-province travel advisor, then they should also have the choice to purchase travel insurance from that advisor.

Insurance sold by travel agents needs to be more readily available for out of province sales...it is far to challenging to become compliant to sell Travel Insurance to any canandian,

Elbows up Canada - let us be able to properly serve out clients across Canada. Allow me answer even the simple questions for my clients. Current legislation impedes my service and actually huyrts the client as they have a question, but they cannot ask me and they don't want to sit on hold with the insruance company or are afraid if they ask a question, they will be denied coverage.

Without question, my clients across the country are travelling without proper coverage. That in itself is a scary thought. Good for you @brett for poking the bear.

I sell cruises to clients across the country and they would benefit from the protection of if I could sell them a package more easily.

This is a critical issue to help protect travellers and reduce interprovincial barriers.
