time for a change and allow us to sell complete offerings to clients rather than only a portion

I have clients all over Canada and it makes no sense that if I am licensed to sell travel insurance in BC, that I cannot sell the exact same product to clients in other provinces.

As Travel Insurance Agent (registered BC & AB) who recently had to let my AB licence go, I feel that this is the most equitable option for both insurance agents and their clients. It's about time to let go of antiquated regulations for Canadian travel insurance.

National standards would benefit both travel agents and their clients.

This would be incredible for better serving guests. Referral system is okay but takes a long time and often do not make the sale. Is ACTA on board with this too?

This makes so much sense, one license for the entire country. Why should it matter which province we are in, most important is ability to help clients get coverage.

It makes more sense to be able to sell anywhere in Canada.

Yes, it's for the protection of consumers. But keep the ability for the agent to be able to sell across Canada, not just provincially. Our clients are not just in our area, but with email, across the country. Keep it simple and avoid the need for individual provincial licensing models.

National Standards for the sale of travel insurance by advisors across Canada is currently hindered by varying provincial licensing requirements, posing significant barriers to trade and limiting consumer access to essential insurance products. As more travel advisors shift to becoming home-based and independent contractors with clients sales spanning all provinces, it is imperative that the federal government addresses these trade barriers in the ongoing provincial trade barrier reviews.

It would be beneficial to have one standard insurance guideline for all Canadian Travel Advisors as we have clients from all Canada not just our province.

In this day of social media and the internet having a national license is necessary.
