Dear Professor David Masiello,

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, some of us are severely affected by the lack of resources and the unusually difficult conditions. Some of us had to go through the miserable process of losing a family member or dear friend, or even suffered from the illness themselves. Apart from that, due to remote learning, we found studying extremely difficult because of a significant lack of communication between both professor and amongst students. Since the situation is unique and people are being affected by the pandemic in various degrees, it would be fair to adjust the class mean.

Hereby, we respectfully propose a potential raise in the class mean GPA to a ~2.8 to both reflect the difficulties of learning remotely and compensate students who are being severely affected by the pandemic.

Regardless of your final decision, we appreciate it and are grateful for your dedication. Thank you for making this quarter as easy as possible for us in such a unique situation, and thank you for your time!
