Permanent bans should be an extreme exception. They never benefit anyone. It's not hard to think of 100 other ways in Eve to punish a player. Only the ones who don't learn after several warnings should be banned for say 5 years.

I agree a punishment is justified, but not a total ban. Maybe 30 days to 90 days. Have a heart and allow him to play after a reasonable amount of time had passed.
