Hello, I am writing this petition to ask schools to allow piercings and coloured hair in schools, I know that many people in my school would want this as many of them have been told off for what they want to do with there own body, schools don't understand that its our body and we don't do it to annoy school we do it because its what we want, and to be honest they should not have the opertunity to stop us, so all I ask is that you share this with your friends and put your signature on here just to help us it wont take more than 5 muinets, Thankyou!

I was looking at some of the stories people are sending in about their teachers getting upset over a tiny nose stud and it honestly just makes me feel exhausted because it is just a piece of metal after all. It feels like nobody in charge actually listens to why we want to express ourselves but I am going to keep pushing on this because it is just not right for them to act like our hair color impacts our ability to learn algebra.

its so unfair that they have to take us out of class and lock us away because of something that makes us so confident its who we are!!!

I graduated high school on May 28th, 2015. I have facial piercings and colored hair while working for the company Walgreens and Frisch's. In the past I have worked for Amazon. The only restriction on colored hair and facial piercings was for Frisch's. All other businesses allow such modifications to your body. Only jobs requiring real time customer service restrict this. Many factory jobs and service industries do not restrict such things. Nor should a school that will eventually have no standing affect in your adult life. Something so meaningless and temporary should lead and affect your life choices.

I was made to leave school for having a stud in my lip, the teachers actually tried to forcefully pin me to take it out and this was 2009, I ended up leaving school at the age of 14, it's discrimination and abusive, we could sue a company for refusing to hire us based on piercings and tattoos, so why can we not have equality in schools to provide a heathy and accepting community? We are the most impressionable at this age, and this is why the next generation is failing already.

I agree with this as long as they are not offensive i dont see a problem it dosent impair their learning abilities in the slightest.

Students should not have to sacrifice personal decisions having to do with their hair or body because staff officials consider it "distracting". In no way shape or form do these things impact a students ability to learn.

People should be allowed to do what they want with their OWN body. Schools tell you that you should "be yourself" yet when they do they act as if you just set a bomb off. It's pathetic and needs sorting.
