My water bill has doubled!

I don’t know where the $1.00/1000 gallon number was created and how it was factored into the $17/mo average increase.

In an effort to entice new growth... The city of Ammon gave Kartchner a one million dollar discount on their sewer permit for the first street apartments. The only problem is that Ammon still had to pay the sewer district the full amount. Who gets stuck with that burden? I'll give you one guess.....

Where are the excess funds going?

I have wanted to move to Ammon for many years, but the cost for water, sewage, irritation, garbage etc. has always been high. Now it is getting worse. Please realize that you are referring people from moving to your city with these high costs!

Ammon's utility bills were way too high before this meter crap. Who are our commissioners working for? Definitely not the citizens of Ammon.

I hope the mayor does right for the citizens of Ammon. School bonds passing left and right. Keep the water bill down please.

First, no charges until all are metered. And if there is a base fee, there should be a set amount of free gallons. $30 fee, 30,000 gallons. Only charge for the amount over that. That would encourage conservation, but still allow for those in smaller yards to have a smaller bill that is manageable. Or if using current schedule, put rate down to 1000 gallons=$.25. I would also be curious to know where the excess funds are being used.

Our yards are dying because we can't afford to keep up with the increased rates.

This needs to and has to be changed.

These water rates are absurd. We dont even have a lawn or sprinkler system in yet on our new home and our water bill has been $180 twice now. And we have been careful to make sure we dont waist very much water

The increase in the water bill is not the way to gain revenue for the city of Ammon. With all the new developments happening those fees should go to the builders and developers, who the of course pass it along to the buyers. The quantity of gallons the city says we use is hard to believe. 70,000 gallons with 2 adults only in our home. Less laundry, showers, etc... yet we show almost the same as our neighbored with large families.

This is not far for water billing. Every one needs a meter before you do a water meter bill. Or raise the water bill some and charge every body the same for water bill. Need to do a law suit for charging more for meter water when the neighbor next door does not have water meter then you are paying more. Need to get a refund.

It is ridiculous they told me that we have to pay more so that people have smaller yards can pay less. I was told if we have a bigger yard and a bigger house we have more money and can affordit..

We want the city to look nice, but should I really have to decide between washing my clothes, bathing, washing my dishes, or watering my yard? I only live in a two person household at the moment and I’m scared to see what the increase is when our family grows!

I’m being way over charged and was recently shut off with water because on two weeks time my water was over 80.00 again no warning kids in the home. This isn’t right or affordable. I want something done... NOW!

The increase in rates is way too much. If the revenue from the water metering is being used to pay for projects other than the actual cost of the water that is an unfair burden on those with larger yards to maintain. It's also very unfair that some without meters yet are paying so much less than those of us who are being metered. I have lived in Ammon since 1987 and have always been happy with our city government.....I'm not very happy now.
