Worker's Solidarity Movement (WSM) is hosting ''My Life in Activism: Women Speak'', a lively and informal discussion on women's activism and the varied experiences we have when it comes to campaigning for social justice. we're delighted the entire panel will be just women and ask that the audience reflects this and be a women/trans only audience too.
we approached WSM about making this specific talk a women/trans* only space but to no avail. so we thought putting a petition to see if enough ppl may like a space like that! (this petition isn't a hostile pressure action, it was in fact encouraged by a WSM member )
There are far too many discussions and events in the public where men have the benefit of being automatically welcome (especially concerning women issues) it would be a great statement if WSM makes their talk accessible only to those the discussion will be for and about- women and trans people only.
we need as many signatures BY TUESDAY 8TH APRIL
(and if not enough people want this, then grand, it'll be a really cool discussion anyway- but let's see first!)
