However, state law also mandates that all members must be notified of the vote at least thirty (30) days in advance of the vote. This was not done. In addition, the vote was held in the smokey and unhealthy Social Room of the club where prospective voters are subject to intimidation by the smoking members of the club. This is unfair. It is also unfair to subject prospective voters to those unhealthy conditions in order to vote.

Wherefore, the undersigned members and former and prospective members of the Rumford Falls Eagles petition the club's leadership to hold a fair vote on the subject of continuing to allow smoking in the club in accordance with state law.
