The limited surface area of the lake with restricted zones will be nearly impossible to manage effectively - agree with "No Wake" limits proposed

PLEASE keep in mind, this is the dry side. We are required to have sprinkler systems in our homes. What happens when campers and/or boaters decide to play with fire (grilling, campfires, smoking) and drink too much (while playing with fire), leaving trash behind, etc...? Who's policing this? Who will be present each day to make sure that humans don't screw it up? Or burn down the neighborhood? Our community not having a choice doesn't seem right. We take great care in preserving our area. Gasoline pollutes. So do humans. Destroying the preservation of this lake and it's surrounding area in a city that is over growing at a rate its own sewer/water systems can't keep up seems, well...sad. Capitalism seems to be more important than preservation. More is not always better.

I have always thought it was a VERY big error to have accepted motor fuel money as funding for the reservoir...especially without seeking citizen input. Though I would prefer no
motorized craft at all, I would definitely favor allowing no more than trolling motors. Thank you for your consideration.

Lake Nighthorse is no place for noisy and polluting motorized water sports. It will adversely impact many species of bird and wildlife. The size of the Lake along with the freestanding dead trees, would make it dangerous to even remotely consider any water vessel that could go over 5 mph. Please show your repsect and love for this Lake and it's surroundings by honoring it's current tranquil and serene state. We have already seriously disrupted this land and habitat once. Let's not repeat the offense and keep the disruption ongoing. Lets not destroy what we have. Lets do the right thing and keep Lake Nighthorse a NO-Wake Lake!

I concur with this petition!!!!! Get the lake open. This is absolutely ridiculous that another summer is upon us and the lake is still off limits!!!!!!

It is important that the neighbors living near Lake Nighthorse have a voice with Durango City Council. We are Hesperus residents, not Durangoans yet Durango City Council will make decisions directly affecting our homes and property values. Please limit motorized boats to a max of 5mph. Thank you.

This lake is far too small for 40mph boats. The wildlife, including deer, elk and bear, as well as humans would appreciate the quiet & serenity of 5mph max speed boats. Frankly, it should be open for electric motors, canoes, and kayaks only.

I would like to see a peaceful lake where one could enjoy the lake without loud motors! In addition, the larger motors would echo a long way, interrupting the peaceful countryside which I cherish!
