CMS has made drastic cuts to RFA benefits for patients, and is now forcing the procedure to be performed in a surgery center facility instead of in the convenience of the office. CMS has also restricted the procedure from being performed in most hospital setting further limiting your options as a patient to receive treatment for your sleep apnea. CMS is currently examining the changes and plan on making a final decision in March, which is why we need to act now. If they do not reverse their decision, it will affect new patients and patients currently in the middle of their treatments. Patients are better served having the procedure performed in the office because of quicker recovery time, procedure is less invasive, no sedation, and the patient can return to work the same day. If you are a patient about to start the series of treatments or a current patient already receiving treatments, the reduction in benefits will limit or possibly cut off your access to this treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

Signing this petition is one way for your voice to be heard and for you to have a role in your treatment. You can also write a letter to your congressman/representative, insurance carrier, Cahaba and/or CMS telling them of the success of the treatment and the benefits of having the procedure performed in office versus the surgery center.
