This book is important. My husband was assigned to read this book at a very strict university run by a church, which goes to show you that even they found value you it—Even they overlooked one vulgar scene because the benefits far outweighed the risks. Give them the privilege of studying this book, and you will give them the gift of a head start in college. After they've fought for it so hard, it'll probably be the best read book at Rigby High.

I feel as if 1984 is closer to coming true now than ever before . . . it is NOT the time ban this book. Not there is ever a good time to ban a book. Where are we living?

This book has been part of curriculum for years and is worth the discussion that takes part in classrooms across the Country. It is worth keeping in order to continue to foster character as your mission statement says.

Fascism: a political system headed by a dictator in which the government controls business and labor and opposition is not permitted. Emphasis on the OPPOSITION IS NOT PERMITTED. If a person doesn't want their child reading a vulgar thing in a book, there's this drastic new way of preventing it: it's called skipping a page.

This book needs to be read. We are losing freedoms every day and there must be books like this to help educate people on how bad big governments can get and how we must fight to preserve and protect our freedoms!

– Seriously, Rigby High School administration … About the only thing your little Idaho town has going for it, now that the eclipse is history, is its small northern branch of Brigham Young University. You can probably achieve notoriety by some means other than the stupid law-suit such antics is sure to elicit; and, as a small Idaho town, I’m reasonably certain the local school board and the state of Idaho won’t afford it. Do think about it seriously; y’all and I both know a conservative Idaho will not long tolerate such socialist agenda – but, it’s your job, your future. Go for it, shoot yourself in the foot, your citizenry for the most part I’m sure will not approve. – “As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left. As a Rigby alum and English teacher, I think this is done in ignorance. Please don't ban books just because they makes you uncomfortable.
