I hope everything returns back to normal. I couldn’t do late night massages anymore like i used to. The spa that i always go to now closes at 10:30 pm and my shift ends at 10:30pm as well. If i go other places such as orchard it would be inconvinient for me because of the location as well as the price is very high.

Singapore is no longer the vibrant city that it used to be. Everyone has to sleep by 10.30pm. Even tourists are affected. What has happened to singapore?

Spa need to extent there’s working hours for there extras income.. And customer have flexible hours to book like after office hour or after there’s over time job.. think about..

without longer operating hours, our business cannot survive
I can only patronise my massage spa when business is quiet after 1am on my night shift of my taxi driving. My nature of job cause my body aches and I always look for a particular real massage to ease my pain. Please be humane for people who can only go for massage at night as day time will be sleeping.
The revised Act makes it difficult for us to assign or take over another spa business as operators tend to rely heavily on foreign workers other than those from Malaysia, which have reduced in supply over the years. In additional, it is also difficult to recruit Singaporean and PRs as they are tied to one company which do not provide flexibility for them to move from one company to another as relief staff or permanent workers.
The shortening of business hours in fact have killed our business instantly as we committed with the landlord for 3 years lease thinking of running the business for more than 12 hours by paying higher rental. We expect to exit from the business when the lease ends or prematurely if things remained unchanged.
Overall the government will lose out on income taxes, CPF employer/employee contribution, foreign worker levy and all supporting trades will too lose their spa customers too. This shall be a vicious cycle to the economies if not seriously fine tune it.

尊敬的长官，请理解生意人的不容易，店的租金，各方面的开销和员工的税，每个月的压力都非常的大，希望spa店能延长营业时间，增加收入可以支配店的开销，也让外国远来的外劳员工增加薪水收入请理解养家糊口的不容易，也方便那些为了工作迟放工而身体劳累想按摩的人们。在此感恩。感恩！
